Dr. Seshu Madhavapeddy

Seshu is the founder & CEO of Frore Systems. He is a repeat entrepreneur who has scaled two startups, Spatial Wireless and Sipera Systems, from founding to revenue and successful exit. Seshu has also held key leadership positions in Qualcomm, Samsung and Texas Instruments. Most recently, he was the VP/GM of Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor business, which he led from demo stage to a highly successful business. Seshu has a bachelor of technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Dallas in Computer Science.

Dr. Surya P. Ganti

Surya is the founder & CTO of Frore Systems. Surya has deep expertise in MEMS, sensors and flexible electronics design and mass scale manufacturing and holds over 50 patents. Prior to founding Frore, he served as CTO and engineering head for Qualcomm’s reflective Mirasol display and ultrasonic fingerprint sensor products which he led from proof-of-concept to mass scale production and commercial success. Surya has a bachelor of technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, and a Ph.D from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering.

Dr. Mahesh Panchagnula

Mahesh Panchagnula is the current Dean, International and Alumni Relations and Professor of Applied Mechanics at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India. Prior to joining IIT Madras, he taught at Tennessee Tech University and worked at Goodrich Aerospace. His research and consulting expertise is in multiphase flows and design of fluid dynamic systems. He is widely published and cited. He holds a bachelor of technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, and a Ph.D from the Purdue University in Mechanical Engineering.

Dr. Supratik Guha

Supratik Guha is a Professor at the Pritzker School for Molecular Engineering at The University of Chicago, and also holds an appointment at the Argonne National Laboratory. Prior to 2015 Supratik spent twenty years at IBM Research where he last served as the Director of Physical Sciences. At IBM, he pioneered the materials research that led to IBM’s high dielectric constant metal gate transistor, one of the most significant developments in silicon microelectronics technology. Supratik is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a 2018 Department of Defense Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellow. He is also a Fellow of the Materials Research Society, American Physical Society, and the recipient of the 2015 Prize for Industrial Applications of Physics. He received his Ph.D. in materials science in 1991 from the University of Southern California, and a B.Tech in 1985 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India.

Professor Nazanin Bassiri-Gharb

Nazanin is the Harris Saunders, Jr. Chair and a Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research interests are in functional materials and most prominently ferroelectric, piezoelectric and electro-chemo-mechanically active materials for applications to sensors, actuators and transducers. Nazanin received her BSMS summa cum laude from University of Padua, Italy in 2001 and her PhD from Penn State, USA in 2005 in Materials Science and Engineering. Following her doctoral work, she worked as a senior research R&D engineer at QUALCOMM MEMS Research and Innovation Center in Silicon Valley, before joining Georgia Tech in 2007. At Georgia Tech, she chairs the Micro and Nano Engineering Research Area Group in the G.W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering and serves on the Advisory Board of the Materials Characterization Facility. She was the President of IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, Frequency Control Society (2018-2019), and is the President-Elect of the IEEE Council on RFID (2020-2021).

Dr. Brian Gally

Brian is Vice President of Product at Frore Systems. Brian specializes in bringing technical products to market and telling the story that drives consumer and ecosystem engagement from start-up and large enterprise environments. Prior to Frore Systems Brian served as VP Product Management and Marketing at Qualcomm for Mirasol, a MEMS based display, and as Head of Product at Nanoco, delivering quantum dots to display, healthcare and vertical farm markets. Brian has 86 issued US patents, a bachelor of science degree in materials science and engineering from Cornell University and a Sc.D from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in materials science and engineering.

Dr. Prabhu Sathyamurthy

Prabhu is Vice President of Engineering at Frore Systems. Before joining, he was at Apple leading the identification, evaluation, and implementation of thermal technologies, materials and processes in product design and manufacturing of all Apple consumer electronics products. Prabhu is a seasoned entrepreneur in thermal systems engineering. He founded Amoeba Technologies to develop a cloud-computing CFD platform to speed up thermal design space exploration. Prior to that, he scaled up the ICEPAK business from early stage to a dominant market position at Fluent (ANSYS). Prabhu has a bachelor of technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in Mechanical Engineering.

Brian Yang

Brian Yang is the Vice President of Global Operations at Frore Systems. He is the former President & CEO of Primax Electronics Ltd., Taiwan, a leading manufacturer of computer peripherals and modules. He brings deep expertise in Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Management and Business Strategy. Brian has a Bachelor’s degree from the National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan and a Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Mechanical Engineering.

Brandon Jung

Brandon is the Vice President of Business Development at Frore systems. Brandon has a proven track record of accomplishments in business development, sales, product planning and operations throughout his career at Samsung and Texas Instruments. Prior to joining Frore Systems, he was the VP/GM of Samsung mobile business unit in the U.S. responsible for quality control of smartphones, tablets, laptops and wearable devices. Brandon had also led the product planning team for tablets and notebooks at the Samsung headquarters in South Korea, creating business plans, product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies that drove $8B revenue. Brandon also worked at Texas Instruments where he held leadership roles in sales and business development both in the U.S. and South Korea. Brandon holds a bachelors' degree in electrical engineering from Kyunghee university in South Korea.

Len Fennell

Len is the Director of Process Engineering at Frore Systems. Len has materials, equipment, and process development experience through his work at Texas Instruments, General Instruments, Xerox PARC, dpiX, and Qualcomm. He has been responsible for the setting up of two a-Si TFT fabs and two MEMs fabs from equipment specification through process qualification. He worked most recently at Qualcomm developing processes and equipment for Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor product. Len has a BS in Physics and Math from Creighton University, an MA in Physics from Washington University, and an MBA from Notre Dame de Namur University.

Angela Kawamoto

Angela is the Office Manager at Frore Systems. She handles general administration, human resources, accounting and event management for the company. She does ‘all the things’ so her team can focus on their areas of genius. Angela has a strong track record of excellence in varied executive support roles, most recently at Qualcomm. Angela is an avid gardener along with her two professional lawn enthusiasts, Chowder and Panini (her sulcata tortoises). Her other child keeps her occupied with his water polo adventures and when she has a free minute, you can find her vacationing in Hawaii.

Judy Liu

Judy is the Office Manager at Frore Systems Taiwan. Judy has 15 years of experience in human resources functions at multinational companies (SRAM, JABIL, Cortina, Grundfos). Judy has a Master of Technology and Innovation Management degree from Sussex University, U.K. Judy is an avid long distance runner and has participated in over 100 full marathon races in 40 countries. Judy enjoys working in the fields at her family farm.

Marvin Ancheta

Marvin is the Support Engineer at Frore Systems. Marvin brings extensive experience in setting up and managing process and characterization labs, having previously led these activities at NetFlex, Qualcomm, Chelix, Adaptive Electronics and 3COM. Marvin enjoys photography and car restoration in his free time.

Dr. Vikram Mukundan

Vikram leads MEMS design at Frore Systems. Before joining, he was at Formfactor Inc. developing MEMS spring technologies for wafer level semiconductor testing. He also worked as a Post-Doctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute, Dresden, Germany. His research work there on MEMS actuation and sensing mechanisms for biological applications resulted in several peer reviewed journal publications. Vikram has a bachelor of engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, and a Ph.D from Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering.

Ming Tung

Ming is a Principal Process Development Engineer at Frore Systems. He enjoys the challenge of commercializing new technologies from concept to mass production. Ming has been part of two successful start-up companies (Iridigm, Outward) that were acquired by Fortune 500 companies (Qualcomm, Williams Sonoma). He holds over 30 patents in MEMS, Display, RF and Lighting technologies. Ming has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at San Diego.

Dr. Ananth Yalamarthy

Ananth is a Staff Engineer at Frore Systems. He has a bachelor of technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, and a Ph.D. from Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering. His PhD research was at the intersection of energy, electronics and MEMS devices using wide-band gap materials. He is the recipient of the Qualcomm Roberto Padovani scholarship (2016), a Baker-Hughes fellowship (2015) and a DAAD-WISE scholarship (2013).

Shekhar Halakatti

Shekhar is a Principal Software Systems Engineer at Frore Systems. Shekhar has been leading embedded software development for 15 years, delivering products that excite customers at GoPro, Qualcomm and Sony. Shekhar’s background includes research in MEMS based sensor systems and he has multiple publications and patents in the area. Shekhar has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from RV College of Engineering, Bangalore, India, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida, and a graduate certificate in Strategy and Product Management from Stanford University.

Tony Do

Tony is a Senior Process Support Engineer at Frore Systems. Tony brings an extensive skill set in many aspects of process engineering in the Semiconductor, Display and MEMS device industries. He acquired this knowledge working at DEC, Orbit Semiconductor, LSI logic, Iridigm Display, Qualcomm Mems Innovation Center and Thin Film Electronics ASA. Tony earned his Associate of Arts in Electronic Computer and Electronic Communication from American River College, Sacramento. Tony enjoys learning and playing the Spanish guitar in his free time.

Dr. Liming Wang

Liming is a Principal Process Development Engineer at Frore Systems. His expertise includes process development, process integration, equipment development, and bringing new products to mass production. Prior to joining Frore Systems, Liming led the Product Engineering and Reliability group of MEMS sensors at TDK-Invensense Taiwan. Before that, he worked on MEMS display development and production at Qualcomm, on PVD/CVD process development for large size LCD manufacturing at UNAXIS, and on process development and integration of LCD at ITRI in Taiwan. Liming has a PhD from the National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in Material Science and Engineering.

Dr. Carl Morandi

Carl is a Senior Process Engineer at Frore Systems. His expertise is in materials processing and characterization of bulk and thin film ceramic materials for electrical, optical, and structural applications. Carl has a bachelor of science degree from the University of North Texas and a master of science degree and a Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University in Materials Science and Engineering. As a graduate student he worked directly with IBM, the U.S. Army, and Texas Instruments in developing piezotronic devices, transparent ballistics armor, and next generation FeRAM materials. His research with Texas Instruments is currently under patent review. Prior to joining Frore Systems, he worked with Prof. Nazanin Bassiri-Gharb at the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Postdoctoral Fellow and is an ongoing research associate.

Benden Pan

Benden is a Staff Engineer at Frore Systems. Benden brings expertise in manufacturing integration, from R&D stage to mass production, of both front-end (display, touch panel, MEMS) and back-end (touch panel, fingerprint sensor). Prior to joining Frore, Benden worked on developing Touch Panel lithography, etching and New Product Introduction (NPI) at Cando and MEMS display etching process at Qualcomm. Benden has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Chang Gung University, Taiwan.

Dr. Lumaya Ahmed

Lumaya is a Senior Engineer at Frore Systems. Lumaya has extensive knowledge and experience in thermal design, analysis and testing. Previously, she worked on several heat transfer and flow analysis experiments in the Center for Advanced Turbines and Energy Research (CATER), UCF. Lumaya has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, and a Ph.D. from University of Central Florida (UCF) in Mechanical Engineering.

Vincent Chan

Vincent is a Senior Staff Engineer at Frore Systems. Vincent has process integration, process development, failure analysis and yield improvement experience through his work at Quanta Display, Qualcomm and Apple. Prior to joining Frore, he was a Senior Hardware engineer at Apple, working closely with suppliers. Before that, he managed the Qualcomm MEMS display process integration and yield improvement, overseeing the technology transfer from R&D to high yield mass production. Vincent has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Fu Jen University, Taiwan and a Master of Science degree in material science and engineering from Tsing Hua University, Taiwan.

David Lin

David is a Staff Test Development Engineer at Frore Systems. David has expertise in module process development, integration and product yield improvement. Prior to joining Frore, David was a product engineer at TDK Invensense for ultrasonic fingerprint module process solution development, providing on-site support to module partners and customers in China. Before that, he worked at Qualcomm on MEMs display back-end yield improvement. David has a Master of Engineering degree from National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan.

Suchitra Ramesh

Suchitra is a Senior Engineer at Frore Systems. Before joining Frore, Suchitra worked as a Hardware Design Engineer at Aricent, gaining experience in developing hardware electronics for multiple consumer electronic applications. She has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Reva ITM, Bangalore, India and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. During her Masters’ degree she worked as a research assistant in developing a magnetic field-based battery management system for lithium-ion batteries.

Shao Lau

Shao is a Process Technician at Frore Systems. She has 25+ years of experience in the industry and brings extensive knowledge to the team. Her professional work history includes companies such as Qualcomm, dpiX, GlobalFoundries and Thin Film Electronics. In her spare time, she likes to go to the farmers’ market and cook for her family.

Natalie Nguyen

Natalie is a Principal Process Engineer at Frore Systems. Natalie has deep expertise in Semiconductor R&D and HVM process integration, thin film process development, yield improvement, failure analysis, program management, and engineering management. Previously, she worked at JUUL Labs, ThinFilm Electronics, SanDisk and Intel. Natalie holds over 10 worldwide patents.

Benjamin Lu

Benjamin is a Process Technician at Frore Systems. He has over 20 years of experience in the industry and brings extensive knowledge in process technology and testing. His professional work history includes companies such as Soraa Laser Diode, Nest Lab (Google), and Qualcomm. In his spare time, he likes to go fishing and hiking with his family.

Weichi Liu

Weichi is the Facility Manager at Frore Systems, Taiwan. Weichi has over 25 years of experience and knowledge in clean room infrastructure setup and cost optimization. Weichi worked on factory construction of TSMC Fab 2, 5 and 8, as well as Winbond Fab 3. In the display panel industry, he worked on Hannstar TFT LCD G-3 line and Touch Panel G-5 line and also on the Qualcomm MEMS display line. Weichi has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Tamkang University, Taiwan.

Ganu Sankar

Ganu Sankar is the Head of Embedded Systems at Frore Systems. Ganu has over 25 years of technical, operational and team leadership experience in embedded systems and systems engineering. Prior to joining Frore, Ganu founded a wireless power systems company, Wipqtus. He architected the wireless power chipsets and systems for several generations of Samsung, Sony, LG and Huawei Smartphones. Ganu has a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, and a Master of Science degree from the University of Texas, Austin in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Nicolas Madhavapeddy

Nicolas is a test engineer at Frore Systems. He previously interned at Frore Systems working with the design and characterization teams on GUI development and backend integration of product test platforms and at iTron Idea Labs on IoT devices deployment in smart cities. Nicolas is graduating with a B.S. in Computational Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Cruz and intends to continue with graduate studies in mathematics in number theory.

Chris Park

Chris is Staff Engineer at Frore Systems. He has demonstrated experience in new process development from proof of concept to mass production readiness, as well as in nano materials R&D. Prior to joining Frore, Chris worked at Apple, Advanced Nano Products and Samsung. Chris has master’s degree in chemical engineering from Imperial College London and holds over 15 worldwide patents.

Dr. Calvin Kim

Calvin is a Senior CFD Engineer at Frore Systems. He has a Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and in Physics from California Institute of Technology, a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. from Purdue University. He has worked on visualizing flapping wings, characterizing the efficiency of a wall-climbing robot, and, most recently, understanding the multiphase flow dynamics of double emulsion droplets with microfluidics applications in mind.

Shree Nagarkar

Shree is a Senior Customer Engineer at Frore Systems. Previously, Shree has worked on enhancing detonation engine design, flow optimization in wind tunnel diffusers, and most recently on tilt-rotor UAV design and optimization. She has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Tele-communications from University of Pune, India and a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from San Jose State University.

Hank Chang

Hank is the Sr. Staff Engineer at Frore Systems. Hank has extensive experience in semiconductor packaging technologies, including die bonding and lamination process development. Prior to joining Frore Systems, Hank led the process engineering group of fan-out integration process at PTI. Hank holds a master's degree in Chemistry from National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan.

Kelvin Wang

Kelvin Wang is the Director of Quality in Frore Systems Taiwan. Kelvin has over 25 years of quality management and team leadership experience in TFT LCD panel, Touch panel, Desktop Display and Notebook PC. Prior to joining Frore Systems, Kelvin worked at Dell Technology, Hewlett Packard and Compaq Computer. Kelvin has a Masters degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of North Texas.

Long Nguyen

Long Nguyen is a Process Engineer at Frore Systems. His expertise includes process development, equipment development, wet lab processing, sizing operational units for chemical processing plants and scaling up to mass production. Long has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Davis. He is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering specialized in reactor design at San Jose State University.

Dr. Philip Stephanou

Philip is a Principal Engineer at Frore Systems. He is an expert in the modeling, design, and fabrication of sensors and MEMS with experience in applications ranging from non-destructive test and evaluation, frequency control devices, inertial sensors, and semiconductor packaging. Under the auspices of previous startups, he has executed R&D contracts for the California Energy Commission, NSF, DARPA, NASA, and private customers. Philip holds a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley and has over 30 issued US patents.
